Applied Radar is all about wideband systems. Why? Simply put, wideband means better resolution and faster communications. The digital era has pushed speeds at which computers and networks operate, allowing radars and communications to operate a speeds never seen before.This allows a tremendous amount of sensing information to be collected as never before been possible. In addition to the higher resolution comes better target accuracy, as the radar images are processed in real-time.
Applied Radar has developed a line of wideband frequency converters, which we sell internationally through our Quonset Microwave partner for test and measurement and system development and verification applications. Our flagship product is the QM1004-0.5-18, which is a dual-channel up/down converter capable of tuning over 0.5 GHz to 18 GHz with over 1.0 GHz of instantaneous bandwidth. We have similar systems which presently cover up to 40 GHz in this same product line.
