The ALERT™ sensor is a spin-off of our popular WIPCAT™ phased array product that is designed for extremely low-cost applications. This is achieved by allowing beam-steering in azimuth-only with no beam-steering in elevation. This approach, sometimes called a “fan-beam radar” is suitable for applications where either the elevation field-of-view is limited or in applications such as ground-mapping where the elevation axis can be represented using radar range. Overall, ALERT™ is designed to have the same RF power density as WIPCAT™, and may be a good choice for extremely cost-sensitive applications.
